Genie garage door opener is a good choice for most homeowners. These units are quiet, safe (infrared beams detect objects in the way of the door), secure (changing the code after each time the door was opened/closed), fast (opens faster than many competing brands, and closes at about the same speed), and affordable (cheaper than belt-driven models).

Disadvantages of the Genie garage door opener are: louder than belt-drive models, and more expensive in comparison to chain-drive models. Users generally give Genie a good overall score, with some users noting an excessive noise. Overall, Genie door openers are a good choice for most homeowners.

Genie Garage Door Opener - Affordable and Quiet Opener

Genie garage door openers are an affordable and quiet opener that costs around $200, which is about $50 cheaper than a quieter belt-drive opener. As long as your garage is not located immediately underneath your master bedroom, this door opener will most likely be a good choice for you.

Advantages of the Genie garage door opener include: quiet in operation, a good warranty (10-year warranty on the motors, and 2-year warranty on other parts), two remote controls, and good security features (changing the code after each use, and safety beams to locate any objects in the way of the garage door).

Roller Garage Safety Advantages

If you have small children or pets, you may want to take a serious look at roller garage doors for your home. A large majority of the motorized roller garage doors are equipped with an infrared sense that detects moving objects in the door's path
and quickly reverses when it senses something. The door operates very smoothly and quietly, so the reversal won't startle anyone if they didn't realize the door was descending.

Before you begin looking for your roller garage unit, you have to make sure you have enough vertical space to install the motor to open and close the garage door. If you don't have enough space, you may want to consider getting a smaller garage motor or just manually open your garage.

1 Step To A Hassle Free Morning

I've had a manual garage for longer than I would like to remember. All the days, nights, heat, cold, and rain has finally pushed me over the limit. While all of my neighbors push their car remotes and their garage door magically opens and closes I'm stuck getting out of my car and braving the weather to open the door. I've worked hard and saved my money, the least I can do is get a garage door opener for myself. Fortunately for me, I found the perfect garage door unit from the Genie company.

The cool thing about their selection is that all of their units came with this software called Intellicode. It's pretty cool. Each time you use your garage remote, the code that is sent to the garage to open it is changed so that you have a brand new code the next time you use it. This makes it almost impossible, or so I've been told, for anyone to steal your remote signal and open your garage when you aren't there.

We bought a DirectLift Plus model since it had all the features we needed at a really affordable price. The install went surprisingly well, considering I'm not very good with tools and putting things together, and the warranty is great.
